Rev. Lorraine Bailey came to First Christian Church in May, 2017. A native of southern California, she graduated from Chapman University in Orange, California with an elementary teaching degree. She received her Master of Divinity degree from Claremont Theological School in Claremont, California. Alongside teaching in private, public, and charter schools, she served as an ordained minister in congregations in California, Montana, and Colorado. She is ready to help all people, children and adults, find daily spiritual renewal in their lives, discover ways to enhance and enliven each other’s faith, and form new and deeper relationships with others in the faith community and beyond. She enjoys singing with the Emporia Chorale, reading, walking, and swimming.
After retiring from teaching, Susan began working in the church office at First Christian Church in 2011. In this fun-filled position, Susan does a variety of things from general clerical duties, to greeting food pantry patrons, to helping unload donations to the church. As the saying goes, variety is the “spice” of life and that is so true at the church as no two days are ever the same.
