Worship Ministry

First Christian Church celebrates the gift of Jesus with a worship service every Sunday at 10:30 a.m.  The central part of worship is the celebration of the Lord’s Supper or Communion – to which all are invited.  Music is an important part of our communing with God.  Through pastoral and congregational prayer we commune with the Living God.  Lay people are active in the worship service through scripture reading, serving communion, giving communion and offertory prayers and providing a children’s message.  The music ministry, an important part of our worship, consists of a chimes choir and a chancel choir.  Youth are involved in worship as candle lighters and participants in the children’s message.

First Christian Church is ever mindful of the needs of those beyond our walls.  Jesus said that if we cared for the least of people we care for Him.  First Christian Church does this through a:

  • Food Pantry for the Community
  • Clothes Closet – which provides good, clean clothes at very low prices
  • Rummage Sale
  • Nursing Home ministries and worship services
  • Boy Scout program
